When Sony Entertainment, Cisco Systems, Akamai Technologies, Microsoft, the Discovery Channel, Man Caves Show, Nike and clients like Motorola and Verizon started renting our units, we knew we had finally arrived. These companies are totally "jaded" and have experienced everything in the world - therefore we must of had something totally unique and entertaining. It took a long time to get here - more than twenty five years of evolution and various software.
A little history:
This "Surf Simulator Hawaii" business came into place when our ad agency created a promotion for a client 20 years ago. T&C SURF - you might have heard of this major chain of surf shops. They wanted to launch a chain of stores in the clothing business. What would be unique and gather crowds and attention? Well, we built a Surf Simulator in Hawaii (quite archaic at the time using a Commodore 64 - we still have the original!) and invited the press to attend and witness and participate in the "World's First Indoor Surfing Contest". WOW! That lucky day delivered two television stations to their main surf store! Not only did it put our client on the map but the world's first Surf Simulator from Hawaii as well. We even had USA Today cover the promo when they saw the video clip - we never thought this would gain so much attention. Nintendo later licensed our product for a year to develop the first interactive stand-on game pad.
We never thought that this would turn into a full time business - several months later, we went into the "Surf Simulator Party Rental" business. Our system became popular for entertainment: conventions, grand openings, fund raisers, corporate events, marketing and advertising campaigns.
Today, the entire surf simulator system only weighs a mere 25 pounds and runs off the PS2 Sony Playstation Game Console or PC. We also have newer units that run off your standard PC laptop - the new software we developed is great for customizing games that require corporate logos, ad banners and pop up videos.
